My name is Wuyou Xie and I am a 3
rd-year mathematics major at the University of Texas at Austin. While I study mathematics, I have a strong inclination towards the financial markets and applying statistical projections and machine learning towards asset pricing. Eventually, I would like to develop quantitative trading models and various other machine learning based technologies for use in the financial sector. Even though most of my concentration is based around quantitative analysis methods, I still study traditional finance projections as well as participate in stock pitch competitions. Outside of my own studies, I enjoy teaching and tutoring. Away from academia, I enjoy working out, playing poker and chess, and exploring new places.
My current and past UGTA (LA) positions are posted below:
Spring 2020:
- Wave Motion and Optics: PHY 315
(Prof. Raizen, TTH 12-1:30pm)
Fall 2020:

(Prof. Hegelich, MWF 8-9am)
- Integral Calculus: M 408L

If you're in one of these classes, I look forward to meeting you!
